This is the earliest (1331) reliable documentation of glass production in
Colle, which has existed since at least the 14th century.
Unfortunately, archaeological research has yet to unearth material
evidence of glass production in Colle prior to that of nineteenth century
factories.
Objects found in several sites in the town date back to between the mid 14th
and late 15th centuries and represent some of the everyday items that were most
common at the time.
