Experiments for the production of lead crystal

Immediately after the war, the Boschi Glassworks intensified experiments to find the formula for lead crystal, and these were carried out in the 'Fabbrichina': in 1946 the firm succeeded in producing a mixture with 15-16% lead oxide.

These were years of economic recovery, as proven by the increase in the number of employees: from 105 in 1942, numbers reached 625 in 1950.

In those years the two factories dedicated their efforts to the production of window panes - a national law forced the producers of hollow glass to dedicate part of their production to the creation of glass sheeting which was vital to reconstruction - hand blown using the so-called 'cylinder' system.
