The considerable production of opticians' glass to which the Boschi Glassworks dedicated resources, especially just before the war, is rather interesting.

To produce this glass the firm was forced to reduce the traditional production of glass tableware and bottles; workers employed in the production of glass for industrial and technical use were exonerated from military service and from conscription.

At that time, the Boschi Glassworks supplied the Navy, the Airforce, the State Railways and the War Office.
